So there has been a "significant" oil discovery in the eastern Gulf of Mexico by Canada. I would rather have our neighbors up North to us find it than the Russians. The Obama administration isn't concerned with searching for new sources of oil as he wants to pass his Health Care Reform and other green energy reforms.

I'd rather the Canucks go after it before the Russkies start drilling.

Why is it that Canadian oil companies can find oil anywhere in the world wherever they go or are they just that much better at their job than US oil companies?

Let's see, oil and gas is discovered in American waters and it's good news for Canada and Dutch companies, but not for America! Hunh.

I can't imagine this will change anything. The next paragraph is a little off this subject but to same end which is little will come from any of this for any of us when it is all said and done.
Pres. Obama gave Brazil's Petrobras $2 billion + to develop their off shore drilling last year and now they can't handle that, either. Of course his friend, and his main contributor, George Soros is the main owner of the company. By the way Petrobras just happens to be the world's eighth biggest global oil company.

We should get to pumping oil from our region and not worry about opec. Prices should come down for all of us and it will keep the money in North America.

Bad news for OPEC. Amazing how positive news like this has no effect on prices but any negative rumor or speculation sends the prices through the roof. Total BS!!!!

The question to ask is why are we obsessed with looking for oil instead of moving beyond a limited diminishing product to alternatives?

Just how big a find will it actually be? It will take years to begin pumping and the price will have to be at least what it is now per barrel to make the effort worth while. Bring on a GOOD alternative to fossil fuels.
