I agree with you but its like everybody hates GM on gas buddies they are a bunch of morons. I have been buying GM's for 30+ years and would never buy anything else.

You are right. If we all used non oil for our transportation, the entire middle east would be worthless dessert. The problem is this - there is no good substitute for oil in our cars/trucks (especially big trucks) I would love to see EVs replace our current cars.

Much of the Venezuelan oil we import is tar sand oil - same as Canadian tar sand oil, that's why many Texas refineries can handle the tar sand oil from Canada - they are refining tar sand oil from Venezuela right now.

Senator Bernie Sanders expressed that opinion that Canadian crude would be exported America is the world's largest market for oil and gasoline. By piping oil, it will be more economical to get oil from Canada than paying higher per barrel costs to Venezuela. Market watch story is opinion not fact. It is fact the Texas refineries have contracted with Canadian oil to refine their oil into gasoline. Please look at the gasbuddy facebook page and see that gas refined in Texas can be piped for sale throughout the South & all the way to New York City. Canadian oil is being refined in Whiting IN right now. It is being sold in Michigana and Indiana right now.

It is illogical to pipe low cost Canadian oil to Texas but keep importing higher priced Venezuelan crude into USA. Purpose of Keystone XL is to replace Venezuelan crude. Not enough room for both.
