Seems like its been a long time since we last heard of a storm that was organized in the Atlantic basin! We're approaching the end of hurricane season (last day in November), but one rogue system had to fire up because its been so quiet.

So, what's going on, you ask? Tropical Storm Ida, currently sitting off the coast of Central America, is poised to enter the Gulf of Mexico next week. While this should not influence prices at all or pose any threat, it's a reminder that the U.S. has not had a major hurricane hit in quite some time. Why this Nov 09 blog? Are we to start worrying in advance for 2010 season coming in a stirring up a mess of tar balls and crude oil soup?
